What we keep

  • A grown-up’s email address, stored encrypted. We use it only to send that family’s game reports and links to confirm the address or reset the PIN.
  • A PIN, stored scrambled (hashed) so nobody, including us, can read it.
  • A “well done” photo, if a grown-up uploads one. It is shrunk on their device first (which removes hidden details such as where it was taken) and is only shown to that family’s children. Grown-ups can delete it at any time.
  • Each child’s first name and the answers they give in the games, so the games can practise the tricky questions more often and the reports can say how they got on.

What we don’t do

  • No advertising, no tracking, and nothing is shared with or sold to anyone.
  • Children don’t have accounts, passwords or email addresses.

How long we keep it

  • Only each child’s most recent answers are kept (up to a few thousand per game); older ones are deleted automatically.
  • A grown-up can delete a child, and everything they played, at any time from the Grown-ups page.

On this device

The names on “Who’s playing?” are remembered by this browser only. A small cookie keeps the child (and, for 30 minutes, the grown-up) signed in.
